In July, Cardi Corporation was awarded a bid to construct a 1600 capacity temporary parking facility for AMGEN at the Big River , in West Greenwich , Rhode Island . The owner selected Cardi Corporation based upon a proven ability to safely meet the tight time schedule of the phased project. The two year project has two phases - phase one construct a 1600 vehicle parking facility complete with drainage, utilities, pavement, lighting and security; phase two remove all traces that a parking lot existed at this site owned by the State of Rhode Island Water Resource Board.
We are thrilled to report that Cardi Corporation has again met a critical time sensitive project - Phase One of the AMGEN Big River Temporary Parking Facility was completed on time. The 29 acre site was developed in 29 days under the deft supervision of Steve Kearns, and skilled tradespersons too numerous to mention by name. Over the course of phase one 9900 manhours were logged without a reportable incident, 3650 LF of permanent and 8400 LF of temporary fence was installed, 46000 CY of earth was excavated, 133000 SF of trim and fine grade was completed, 9400 LF of curb and 6000 LF of pipe was installed, and 16000 tons of asphalt placed.
